Vernon Lee is a Partner at Marathon where he is primarily responsible for developing deal origination outreach, Fund investor relations and reporting, and facilitating investment partnerships. He is a seasoned business owner and adviser with over 25 years of experience leading and managing diverse teams as well as guiding, investing, and developing entrepreneurs. A long time Board Member of The Marathon Foundation, Mr Lee additionally founded Brightwood Management Partners, LLC, a trusted certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business and investment advisor to several middle-market companies, institutional investors, entrepreneurs, and entertainment partners.

Previously, Mr. Lee was a Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers Business Advisory Services practice for Fortune 1000 clients in the Finance, Entertainment & Media, InfoComm, and Technology industries. He developed and implemented business operation, process improvement, software development, risk management, organizational change, and strategy development best practices for clients.

Prior to PwC, Mr. Lee served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force, where he led project management, technology development, and budgeting efforts for communication satellites, aircraft simulators, and electronic combat training. He additionally served and currently serves on several boards, including Knight Solutions, Target Entertainment Partners, One Spear Entertainment, Vector Entertainment, Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation, Embark Richmond Highway, Hampton Roads Youth Foundation, Antoine Bethea Family Foundation, and Alfred Street Baptist Church Men’s Ministry Scholarship Endowment. He is also a life member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Mr. Lee received his BBA in Business Management from Howard University and MS in International Affairs from the University of Dayton.
